Hanging a Vanity Mirror With Lights

A vanity mirror is a great way to get a closer look at your face while you're applying makeup, shaving, or doing your hair. And if you choose a model with built-in lights, you'll have even better visibility. Hanging a vanity mirror with lights is a relatively easy project, but there are a few things you'll need to do to make sure it's done safely and correctly.

Vanity mirror with lights
Screwdriver
Drill
1/4-inch drill bit
Screws or nails
Stud finder (optional)
Level

Instructions:

1. Choose the location for your mirror. The best place to hang a vanity mirror is above your sink or vanity, at a height that allows you to see your face clearly. You'll also want to make sure that the mirror is centered over the sink or vanity, and that there is enough space around it so that you can move your head around comfortably.

2. Mark the location of the screws or nails. Once you've chosen the location for your mirror, use a pencil to mark the location of the screws or nails. You'll need to make two marks, one for each screw or nail. If you're using a stud finder, you can use it to find the studs in your wall and mark the location of the screws or nails accordingly.

3. Drill pilot holes (optional). If you're hanging your mirror on drywall, you can drill pilot holes to make it easier to drive the screws or nails. To do this, use a 1/4-inch drill bit to drill a hole at each of the marks you made in step 2. The holes should be about 1/2-inch deep.

4. Drive the screws or nails. If you're hanging your mirror on drywall, you can use drywall screws or nails. If you're hanging your mirror on a stud, you can use wood screws. To drive the screws or nails, simply insert them into the pilot holes (if you drilled them) or into the marks you made in step 2. Drive the screws or nails until they are snug, but don't overtighten them.

5. Hang the mirror. Once the screws or nails are in place, you can hang the mirror. Simply lift the mirror onto the screws or nails, and then push it up until it is flush against the wall. Use a level to make sure that the mirror is hanging straight, and then tighten the screws or nails if necessary.
