How To Replace A Vanity
Replacing a vanity is a relatively simple project that can be completed in a few hours. With a few basic tools and some planning, you can save yourself the cost of hiring a professional.
Before you begin, you will need to gather the following materials:
- New vanity
- Vanity top
- Faucet
- Drain
- Pliers
- Wrench
- Screwdriver
- Level
- Caulk gun
- Caulk
Once you have gathered your materials, you are ready to begin the replacement process.
1. Remove the old vanity
The first step is to remove the old vanity. To do this, you will need to disconnect the water supply lines and the drain. Once the water supply lines are disconnected, you can remove the nuts that hold the vanity in place. Once the nuts are removed, you can lift the vanity off of the floor and remove it from the bathroom.
2. Install the new vanity
Once the old vanity is removed, you can install the new vanity. To do this, you will need to place the vanity in the desired location and level it. Once the vanity is level, you can secure it to the floor by screwing the nuts into the holes in the base of the vanity.
3. Install the vanity top
Once the vanity is installed, you can install the vanity top. To do this, you will need to place the vanity top on the vanity and align it with the backsplash. Once the vanity top is aligned, you can secure it to the vanity by screwing the screws into the holes in the side of the vanity top.
4. Install the faucet
Once the vanity top is installed, you can install the faucet. To do this, you will need to connect the water supply lines to the faucet and tighten the nuts. Once the water supply lines are connected, you can install the faucet handle and tighten the screws.
5. Install the drain
Once the faucet is installed, you can install the drain. To do this, you will need to connect the drainpipe to the drain and tighten the nuts. Once the drainpipe is connected, you can install the drain stopper and tighten the screws.
6. Caulk the vanity
Once the drain is installed, you can caulk the vanity. To do this, you will need to apply a bead of caulk around the base of the vanity and the backsplash. Once the caulk is applied, you can smooth it out with your finger.
7. Clean up
Once the caulk is dry, you can clean up. To do this, you will need to wipe down the vanity with a damp cloth. Once the vanity is clean, you can enjoy your new vanity.
