How To Install Vanity Light

Installing a vanity light is a relatively easy project that can be completed in a few hours. By following these simple steps, you can have your new vanity light up and running in no time.

Step 1: Gather your tools and materials. You will need the following tools and materials to install your vanity light:

Step 1a: Tools - Phillips head screwdriver - Flathead screwdriver - Wire strippers - Electrical tape - Level - Pencil

Step 1b: Materials - Vanity light fixture - Light bulbs - Mounting hardware (included with the fixture)

Step 2: Turn off the power. Before you begin working on the electrical wiring, it is important to turn off the power to the circuit that powers the vanity light. You can do this by flipping the breaker or removing the fuse that controls the circuit.

Step 3: Remove the old vanity light. Once the power is off, you can remove the old vanity light. To do this, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the fixture in place.

Step 4: Install the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is the part of the vanity light that attaches to the wall. Use a level to ensure that the mounting bracket is level, and then mark the location of the mounting holes with a pencil.

Step 5: Drill the mounting holes. Use a drill to drill the mounting holes. The size of the drill bit will depend on the size of the screws that you are using.

Step 6: Install the mounting screws. Insert the mounting screws into the holes and tighten them with a screwdriver.

Step 7: Mount the vanity light. Place the vanity light over the mounting bracket and secure it with the screws that are included with the fixture.

Step 8: Connect the electrical wires. Connect the electrical wires from the vanity light to the wires from the junction box. Make sure that the black wires are connected to the black wires, the white wires are connected to the white wires, and the green or bare wires are connected to the copper wire.

Step 9: Turn on the power. Once the electrical wires are connected, you can turn on the power to the circuit and test the vanity light.
